Kaleidoskopische Kompositionen mäandern zwischen ihren Idolen Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter und Lee Konitz und bieten ein Höchstmaß an musikalischer Freiheit für kreativen, spontanen und profunden Ausdruck in Form von Improvisation, welche auf mannigfaltige Weise erforscht und vorgestellt wird.
Die Wurzeln dieses internationalen Ensembles sind über ganz Europa verstreut. Saxophonist Stefan Gottfried featured den virtuosen spanischen Pianisten Raúl Santana de Saez Ibarra, den unkonventionellen Brüsseler Bassisten Diederik Billiet und den außergewöhnlichen portugiesischen Schlagzeuger João Sousa.
Das neue Album der Formation „So Far“ reflektiert über eine Zeit im Leben, die „so far from home“ verbracht wurde. Die Musik beleuchtet Situationen, erklärt Entscheidungen und beschreibt umbeschreibbare Gefühle vom Leben in einer neuen Umgebung.

Kaleidoscopic compositions meander subtly between their idols Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter as well as Lee Konitz and offer a maximum of musical freedom and space for creative, spontaneous and profound expression in the form of improvisation, which is explored and presented in manifold ways.
The ensemble whose roots are spread all over Europe, features Spanish virtuoso pianist Raúl Santana de Saez Ibarra, the unconventional Brussels bassist Diederik Billiet and the extraordinary Portuguese Drummer João Sousa.
Five young and aspiring musicians sparkling with creativity found together to realize this project by developing the singular sound of the band.
So Far, Gottfried di Franco’s new album, reflects on a time of life spent abroad – so far from home -by sketching situations or specific places, explaining decisions and recounting unutterable feelings. The pieces being portrayed as sequences melt to portray a whole.
